โ–ธ What I did
Posted PIDKill on r/macapps and r/commandline every week for a month

โ–ธ What I expected
Expected at least 50 downloads from 3k+ views

โ–ธ What actually happened
Got upvotes and comments like "cool idea" but literally zero downloads

โ–ธ What I've tried so far
Tried different titles, posting times, added GIFs, nothing changed the download rate

Progress Updates (1)
Took Sarah's advice โ€” posted a story about the problem instead of the tool. Got 200 downloads in 3 days from a single Reddit post. The key was making people feel the pain first.

The problem isn't your Reddit strategy โ€” it's the gap between "cool idea" and "I need this now." Your posts generate interest but not urgency. Try this: instead of showing the tool, show the PAIN. Post a story like "I had 47 zombie processes eating 8GB RAM and couldn't figure out which one to kill." Let people feel the problem, THEN drop your link in the comments.

Have you tried posting as a user asking for recommendations? "I need a tool that does X" and then someone recommends your tool. Sounds sketchy but it's how half of Reddit marketing works.

Instead of r/macapps, try r/productivity and r/mac. Bigger audiences. Post on Tuesdays โ€” that's when Reddit traffic peaks for tech subs.
